Dalit Janakalyan Yuba Club (DJKYC) has been actively working in Lahan Municipality of Siraha district, which is one of the most important and valuable operational areas of the organization. DJKYC is implementing several impactful programs in this municipality to support education, empowerment, and community health.
Firstly, under the “Back to School” campaign, DJKYC is working to bring children back into the education system and reduce dropout rates. This program is currently being implemented in Ward No. 13 (Ghaletole) and Ward No. 18 (Bhadaiya, including Shovapur and Bishnupur). The initiative focuses on raising awareness among families and ensuring that children have access to education.
Secondly, DJKYC is implementing the Harawa Charawa Empowerment Project, which aims to uplift marginalized communities and promote social and economic empowerment. This project is being carried out in Wards No. 15, 16, 17, and 18, where efforts are focused on improving livelihoods, awareness, and community participation.
Thirdly, DJKYC is implementing The Beacon Project, which focuses on WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services. This project covers all 24 wards (1–24) of Lahan Municipality, ensuring access to clean water, improved sanitation, and better hygiene practices across the community.
Overall, Lahan Municipality stands as a key working area for DJKYC, where multiple programs are being successfully carried out to improve the quality of life and promote sustainable community development.
